What is Oyasumi Yumiko?

Yumiko Nanahara is an 11 year old girl who lives a double life. By day she’s a typical elementary school student, by night she is a Weaver in Reverieh – the world where Dreams are made.

Weavers create living beings known as “Dreams” – creatures that tell your heart the stories it wishes to hear every night while you sleep.

However trouble is brewing in Reverieh. A mysterious force is infecting newly created Dreams and turning them into wandering monsters. Infected dreams are labeled as Broken and are ordered to be destroyed. It’s up to Yumiko, her sheep plushie/pet Bandit, and her Dream, Yune, to save Reverieh’s Broken-dreams!

About this Website

This site is to show my progress with this creative work, and give insight into how long it takes me to create this work in full. This project has been going on for 3 years while I was in college. Now I am done with school I will have more time to work on this project and document the steps it takes to create a manga. I hope this site lets you see my creative process and help inspire you to work on your own large projects no matter how long they may take.

About the Creator

I’m a southern gal who wants to be a published mangaka in the US and Japan. I have a university degree in Graphic Design and I’m also an avid gamer. My dream is for this story to one day become an animated series. However, I have a life, and real responsibilities so while I work full time I try to create Oyasumi Yumiko during my spare time. My aspiring level of professionalism and quality rank up there with works from CLAMP (Magic Knight Rayearth, Tsubasa) and Michael DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko (Avatar: The Last Airbender). Admittedly I’m not the best artist, I have a long ways to go. I’m not the top storyboard designer or writer either. I come into this project humble and vulnerable, knowing that the process is one that is challenging, sometimes painful, but in the end very fulfilling. I hope you enjoy my work, and one day look forward to Oyasumi Yumiko becoming the published book and/or animated series I have always dreamt it to be.
